Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Korea Travel 101 (www.koreatravel101.com) collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only, not to any site we link to.
Who we are
Korea Travel 101 is an independent travel information website. For anything in this policy, contact contact@koreatravel101.com.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not run a newsletter, a comment login or a contact form. We therefore do not collect names, addresses or payment details directly.
Two things still happen automatically when you load a page:
- Server and analytics logs. This site is hosted on Google's Blogger platform, which records standard request data — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you viewed — for security and aggregate traffic statistics.
- Advertising and cookies. See the next section.
If you email us, we keep that message and your email address for as long as needed to deal with it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Advertising, cookies and Google AdSense
This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- Google's own handling of data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms page.
Opting out of personalised ads does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then behave oddly.
Legal basis and your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing analytics and advertising data is your consent, collected through the consent notice shown on your first visit, and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning. You can withdraw consent at any time through that notice or your browser settings.
You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale — we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these, email contact@koreatravel101.com.
Children
This site is written for adults planning travel and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
External links
Our guides link to tourism boards, transport operators, booking platforms and venue websites. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect. We receive no commission from any link on this site.
Data retention and security
Log and analytics data is retained by Google under its own retention schedules. Email correspondence is deleted once the matter is resolved and there is no further need to keep it. This site is served over HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date below. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
